Is Givebutter really free? ›

Completely free. No more contracts, no more subscriptions, and no hidden fees — ever. Givebutter is free thanks to 100% optional tips we receive from donors. If you'd prefer to hide tips, a small platform fee applies instead.

All donations become available for withdrawal on a 48-72 hour rolling basis after a donation is made. Withdrawals are not automatic – they need to be manually initiated from your Payouts page. Once initiated, disbursem*nts take 3-5 business days to appear in your connected account.

Every time someone donates to a campaign, they are given the option to cover the entire fee on their donation. Our 0.5% average fee to organizations is made possible because more than 95% of donors on Givebutter choose to cover fees.

On the first tab, you'll be asked to register as one of the following: Nonprofit – if you're a tax-exempt organization with an EIN. Other – if you're another type of organization.

Pricing for auctions 💴

Auto-charged winners cannot be required to cover fees. A credit card processing fee of 2.9% + 30 cents is charged on all winning bid transactions, plus a platform fee of either 0% or 5%. By default, your bidders will receive an invoice upon winning an item.

By default, a combined rate of 18.3% (15% tip plus 3.3% credit card processing fee) is passed on to donors at checkout, contributing to the costs involved with using Givebutter for a fundraising campaign.

Individuals can donate to an organization already using Givebutter or join an existing fundraiser as a team member.
