Dr. Oya Kocabalkan is at the heart of Strandkliniken, offering a unique combination of experience, expertise, and compassion. With qualifications and expertise in Sweden, Turkey, and Switzerland, she is one of the most respected plastic surgeons in Sweden, with nearly 30 years of experience in creating life-changing results for her patients.

Dr. Oya specialises in intimate surgery, “en bloc” breast implant removal, abdominoplasty, breast surgery, eyelid lifts, and liposuction. She prefers proven experience over recent innovations, ensuring a safe and qualified execution of each surgery.
A Lifelong Dream
Dr. Oya grew up in a medical family in Turkey and dreamed from a young age of making a difference in people’s lives. Having established herself as a specialist in both Turkey and the USA, she came to Sweden in 1999 and immediately became the head physician at Karolinska Hospital. Against all odds, Dr. Oya now owns and runs her own clinic in Sweden, a unique achievement for a woman with a foreign background.

Strandkliniken is fortunate to have Dr Igor Safonov as its expert in skin treatments. Dr. Safonov is an experienced and qualified doctor with an impressive career. He graduated from the Medical University of Lugansk and has since specialised in radiodiagnosis and radiology at the oncological hospital. He then focused on dermatology and has worked at the Institute for Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology in Berlin, and Dr. Bogomolec’s Institute for Dermatology and Cosmetics in Kiev.
Dr. Safonov is a specialist in the treatment and correction of scars and has published several articles on the subject. He has a long medical experience and has run a successful clinic in his home country of Ukraine.
